Not a runner? The junior parkrun for kids aged 4-14 happens on Sundays at 9am. Also completely free.

One of London’s best free views. Walk the heath, swim in the bathing ponds (free), and take in the skyline from Parliament Hill. A perfect June afternoon that costs nothing.

Pro Tips for Free Days Out

  • Pack lunch – Free days out become expensive when you buy lunch. A packed lunch costs £2-3 versus £15-20 at a cafe.
  • Check parking – Many free attractions charge for parking. Look for free street parking nearby or use Parkopedia to find it.
  • Take a water bottle – Refill at water fountains rather than buying drinks. The Refill app shows free water points near you.
  • Go early – Free attractions get busy, especially on weekends. Arrive at opening time for the best experience.
  • Rainy day plan – June weather is unpredictable. Always have a free museum as backup.
  • Check council websites – Local authorities often run free events that do not get advertised widely. Search “[your town] council free events June 2026”.
