Everyone loves free stuff, but most “freebie” sites are full of scams, spam and things that aren’t actually free. We’ve spent years finding genuine freebies and these 20 methods are the real deal. No credit card required, no hidden subscriptions, no catch.
Free Beauty & Skincare
Beauty companies give away more free samples than almost any other industry. Here’s how to get them:
1. GLOSSYBOX Subscriptions with Free Gifts
When you subscribe to GLOSSYBOX, you often get bonus gifts worth more than the box itself. Recent promotions have included free e.l.f. palettes and makeup bags worth £30+. Check our GLOSSYBOX deals for the latest offers.
2. Beauty Sample Boxes
Brands like Boots, Superdrug and Lookfantastic regularly offer free sample sets with purchases — and sometimes with no purchase at all. Follow your favourite brands on social media for flash freebie announcements.
3. Product Testing Panels
Sign up for testing panels like Toluna, BzzAgent or The Panel and you’ll get full-size products to test and keep in exchange for honest reviews. Skincare, household products and food are the most common categories.
Free Food & Drink
4. Supermarket Multi-Buy Deals
Iceland’s “4 for £15” and “10 for £10” deals essentially give you items for a fraction of the normal price. When you factor in the per-unit cost, some items work out cheaper than budget brands. See our Iceland deals guide.
5. Coffee Shop Loyalty Schemes
Most coffee chains offer a free drink after a certain number of stamps. Costa, Starbucks and Cafe Nero all have apps. Greggs gives you a free sausage roll on your birthday.
6. Food Bank Apps
Apps like Olio connect people giving away surplus food with people who want it. Supermarkets, bakeries and restaurants post items at the end of the day that would otherwise go to waste. It’s completely free and reduces food waste.
Free Tech & Digital
7. Free eSIM Trials
WorldSIM and other eSIM providers offer trial periods where you can test connectivity before committing. Great for checking coverage before a trip. See our WorldSIM deals.
8. Free Cloud Storage
Google gives you 15GB free, Microsoft offers 5GB with OneDrive, and Apple provides 5GB of iCloud. That’s 25GB of free storage across three services — more than enough for most people.
9. Free Software Alternatives
Before paying for software, check if there’s a free alternative. LibreOffice replaces Microsoft Office, GIMP replaces Photoshop, DaVinci Resolve replaces Premiere Pro. Most people don’t need the paid versions.
Free Home & Garden
10. Free Delivery on Garden Buildings
Buy Sheds Direct and similar retailers offer free delivery on most items — which can save £50-100 compared to other suppliers. Check our Buy Sheds Direct discount guide for current codes too.
11. Freecycle and Freegle
These community groups are goldmines for free furniture, appliances and household items. People give away perfectly good stuff because they’re moving, redecorating or just decluttering. Search your local area and set up alerts.
12. Free Paint from Community Schemes
Many councils run community repaint schemes where leftover paint from households and businesses is collected, sorted and given away free. Check your local council website.
Free Money & Savings
13. Bank Switching Bonuses
Banks will pay you £100-200 to switch your current account. Nationwide, First Direct, Halifax and others regularly run these offers. You can switch every few months and some people make £500+ a year from switching alone.
14. Cashback Sites
TopCashback and Quidco give you cash back on purchases you’d make anyway. The average user earns £300+ a year. It’s not exactly free — but it’s money you wouldn’t otherwise have.
15. Referral Bonuses
Most apps and services offer referral bonuses. Share your referral link for Monzo, Revolut, Uber Eats or whatever you use, and you’ll get credits when friends sign up.
Free Experiences

16. Free Days Out
Museums and galleries across the UK are free — the British Museum, National Gallery, Tate Modern and most major regional museums don’t charge entry. Many National Trust properties have free open days throughout the year.
17. Free Online Courses
FutureLearn, Coursera and OpenLearn (Open University) offer thousands of free courses. You can learn coding, languages, business skills and more without paying a penny.
18. Free Competitions
Enter online competitions regularly and you’ll win eventually. Sites like Loquax and Competition Database list current comps. Some people make a hobby of this and win several prizes a year.
Regular Freebie Sources
19. Check Freebies.co.uk Daily
We update our free stuff page daily with the latest genuine freebies, discount codes and deals. Bookmark it and check back regularly.
20. Sign Up for Brand Newsletters
Follow the brands you like on social media and sign up for their newsletters. Companies announce freebie drops, flash sales and competitions to their followers first. Set up a dedicated email address if you’re worried about spam.
A Word on Scams
If a freebie asks for your credit card, bank details or a “small postage fee”, it’s probably not free. Legitimate freebies never need payment info. Use a separate email address for signing up and never give out more personal info than needed.
